Heat treated citrine is actually Amethyst that has been heated to very high temperatures (about 300-500 degrees celsius.) When Amethyst goes through this heat treatment it changes from purple to a deep golden yellow, orange and/or brown. It is often sold as “citrine” but its growth structure and energetic properties are different from natural citrine. Heat-treated citrine has all the properties of Amethyst plus the energy of golden fire. It’s warm, energizing and sparks passions of the heart.
